Texas State Republican Platform Just as Bad as you Might Expect

Texas State Republican platform elaborates the desire to criminalize sodomy, have religious symbols (such as the Ten Commandments) on public lands, take away the voting rights of already disadvantaged groups (criminals), oppose Affirmative Action, and support "the sanctity of human life, created in the image of God". Man who leaked video depicting US military murdering civilians is arrested

Man who leaked US military video depicting the military murdering Reuters journalists to Wikileaks is arrested (video commonly referred to as 'Collateral Murder; see video here: http://bit.ly/bZx8rK).

As an Economist article (http://bit.ly/cm3aGA) explains: "The case is a reminder that Wikileaks is only as robust as the humans who use it."

The Economist article goes into wonderful detail about the protection methods Wikileaks utilizes to protect those who leak documents to their website.

The man was not arrested because of a failure of Wikileaks' privacy protection methods, but rather, because he boasted about leaking the information and was subsequently ratted out. See more about Wikileaks here: http://bit.ly/92OP9Z)

Rise of Politicized Homophobia in Africa Due to an Influx of Conservative Christians from America

According to this Economist article (http://bit.ly/btLxY8) the rise in homophobic legislation in Africa "coincided with an influx of conservative Christians, mainly from America, who are eager to engage African clergy in their own domestic battle against homosexuality."

It looks like conservative Christians are spreading their hatred around the world quite well. Especially preying on the poor and undereducated.

"David Bahati, the Ugandan MP who proposed its horrid [anti-homosexuality] bill, is a member of the Fellowship, a conservative American religious and political organisation."
